Urology Residency Didactics Schedule

Encouraging Professional Growth and Development

Residents and faculty actively participate and interact in weekly didactics, including various conferences, Grand Rounds, case studies, lectures and Journal club/reading. Didactics are held at Hackensack University Medical Center with protected time for resident education on Tuesday and Friday morning.
Session Day & Time Description
Performance & Quality Review 1st Tuesday, 7:00 – 8:00 AM Residents present case numbers and review morbidities/mortalities with literature analysis.
Grand Rounds 2nd Tuesday, 7:00 – 9:00 AM Visiting faculty give a lecture on a urology topic, followed by a Q&A session with residents.
Tumor Board Conference 3rd Tuesday, 7:00 – 8:00 AM Multidisciplinary team analyzes patient cases, pathology slides, and radiology findings. Residents discuss diagnoses and management.
Uroradiology Conference 4th Tuesday, 7:00 – 8:00 AM Radiology-focused case reviews where residents interpret imaging and correlate with clinical findings.
Journal Club 4th Tuesday, 6:00 – 8:00 PM Residents analyze selected journal articles with faculty over dinner to improve critical thinking.
Pediatric Urology Conference 1st Friday, 7:00 – 8:00 AM Case-based presentations covering key pediatric urology topics over a two-year cycle.
Didactic Lectures 3rd Friday, 7:00 – 8:00 AM Faculty-led lectures on core urology topics, biostatistics, ethics, and practice management.
Campbell’s Review 2nd, 4th & 5th Friday, 7:00 – 8:00 AM Resident-led review of Campbell’s Urology textbook with faculty mentorship.
